I am a 40 year old single mother of twin two year old boys. I am trying hard to work from home and support us…at least until the boys start school.
I was in the Air Force for 13 years before having the boys and getting out. We now live in small-town Texas near my family.
I am planning to start graduate school in the summer, hopefully finishing within a year. The boys should start Pre-K the following November and I hope to start my doctorate at that point.
I am enjoying being single at this point and intend to remain so for a while. I want to make sure I can take care of the boys and myself on my own before I get in another relationship. I don’t ever want to depend on anyone like I depended on their father. When you put that much trust in another person…well, it doesn’t always work out and you are left picking up the pieces. My plan is to get our lives in order before I bring someone else in.
I absolutely do not plan on being one of those single mothers that filters men through my boys lives on a continual basis. I am completely prepared to be single for the rest of my life if need be.
